Declaración de accesibilidad
Our commitment to keeping this wildfire-safety information usable by everyone.
San Elijo Hills Fire Safe Council is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. Because this site carries emergency and wildfire-preparedness information, making it usable for everyone in our community is a priority. We are continually improving the experience and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
Conformance status
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, motor, auditory, and cognitive. WCAG 2.2 AA is a superset of the WCAG 2.1 AA standard referenced under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Measures we take
- Automated and manual accessibility reviews against WCAG 2.2 AA.
- Keyboard operability and a visible focus indicator on all interactive elements.
- Semantic structure, descriptive text alternatives, and sufficient color contrast.
- Support for text resize, reflow to small screens, and reduced-motion preferences.
- A skip-to-content link and clear, consistent navigation on every page.
Known limitations
Some content is provided by third parties and may not fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA:
- Embedded maps (the Firewise zone map) and the live fire-weather widget are hosted by outside services. Where these are difficult to use, the same information is also available by contacting us or via the linked source sites.
- Downloadable PDF documents (bulletins, certificates, plans) may vary in accessibility. Contact us if you need an accessible version of any document.
- The Spanish version of this site is provided as a translation aid and may not be a perfect rendering of every phrase.
Feedback and contact
If you encounter any accessibility barrier on this site, please tell us so we can fix it. Email info@sehfsc.org. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
